Case Study 1:For this multinational automotive manufacturer, we replaced their old, slow and unreliable radio wireless link with a one kilometre laser link. This has enabled them to work without interruption, where the old radio link was failing quite often.
As the manufacturer operates a “just in time” model, the reliability of the link is crucial in maintaining communications between warehouse and assembly line. We were proud to have installed this link quickly, on budget, and with minimal disruption to the production of the motor vehicles. Case Study 2:For this company we created a dual laser network between two warehouses. They use both, but have the option of utilising one or the other in case of failure.
This network replaced a 10MB leased line to the second location, and as the equipment and installation is a one off cost, they save a significant amount of money year on year.
The links have enabled the client to more effectively utilise the IT resources at the remote site, thus increasing efficiency due to the resiliency of the network Case Study 3:We were asked by our customer to provide a extremely secure and resilient solution to quickly and efficiently link their new data centre and office building to the two offices they already had in central Leeds.
Using free space optic units, and custom made brackets designed and made by ourselves, we provided the customer with the option of pairing the units to provide a single 2.5 Gbps link, or two 1.25 Gbps links with an automatic failover using spanning tree. We were on site for approximately 4 days, and that included all the fitting, alignment and testing of the links. The project was delivered on time and on budget and has been running reliably for over 5 years.
